Garcinia kola or bitter kola is a tree that grows in the rain forests of West Africa. The fruit, seeds, nuts and bark of the plant have been used for centuries in folk medicine to treat ailments from coughs to fever.

Bitter Kola (Garcinia Kola) is an Agro medicinal product; this can be found in Nigeria and some other countries in the world. This product is useful for different purposes.

In Nigeria, bitter kola can be sourced from the south, east, west and northern part of the country. In West Africa, Nigeria is the highest producer of bitter kola, with estimated annual production of 150,000 MT. Out of this number, 90% is consumed locally, while just 10% is available for exportation.
